Beginning Philosophy

Philosophy is a difficult subject that uses ordinary words in queer ways and has no practical application whatsoever.

That at any rate is what most people suppose today. And they do so because they forget that philosophy is a technical field. People who would not try to understand physics or mathematics because of the special signs and symbols employed are misled into thinking that philosophy is readily understandable because the words are recognizable. In this sense philosophy has been misleading. For it makes up its technical vocabulary by the extraordinary ways in which it uses ordinary words.

It requires some trouble to understand philosophy, but it is worth the trouble simply because philosophy is one of the most useful enterprises ever undertaken by man. It won't build bridges but it will organize new information...............

so true. philosophy is hard to interprete, just reading through won't give any meaning. One who cracks the meaning gets plus point and one who doesn't, it's just another pose sentence. hehe Razz

...btw, the person on my sig is not me...waz on the roof when i saw this lad standing against the western sky...

..wrote a really long article to post at myktm...it was supposed to be funny and enlightning at the same time...but when it was complete it sounded so stupid that i had to feed it to the trashcan Evil or Very Mad

@Outrage: hmm..ok..i'll post it then...but it's all messed up...in fact i never completed this writeup...so it's incomplete...no solid conclusions...but hey..it's will be hilarious if not enlightening!! lol

WARNING!!! No head and tail...this writeup jumps from one point to another just like that, without any warning or any proper context...what i mean is i'm about to babble again...please pardon my impatience to write a more organized and flowing article. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BLAME ME IF YOU GET A HEADACHE AFTER READING THIS...IT IS VERY BADLY WRITTEN...ABSOLUTELY NO FLOW...NO PROPER ORGANIZATION...I CHRISTEN IT PENGUIN-BABBLE!

Writing...it's all about evoking feelings actually!

They tell you to write what you know. I've heard this so often in the past few months that it's beginning to sound almost like a cliche...cartoons, comic strips, books, everywhere, everywhere...i've even lost count....huh! now why did i mention that particular 'cliche'?...i forgot..so, let me now jump from this point to another, just like that ...hahahaha...no wait..i remember why i wrote that...let us look at an example first...i see a sunset...what do i know?...i know nothing...i just feel the moment...i have no words for that...i know something, but i cannot write what i know...but i try nonetheless...i now have a description of that scene ready...i give it to someone to read...but unless that person has passion for evening skies, he wouldn't be able to relate to my writing and most probably use that piece of paper to start a bonfire...btw, i love bonfires!...haha...hahaha...hahahaha

anyway...

Writing is about evoking feelings in the reader..it's not just about words...a good writer evokes strong feelings inside the reader (this sentence sounds redundant).....if the reader can relate his/her own feelings from experience or from his/her passion towards the subject being discussed, the reader enjoys the writer's work...this is the very reason why people prefer different writers...the reader must be able to connect with the feelings being communicated...a writer may be excellent at describing nature..but a reader who has no passion for mountains, rivers and the evening skies won't connect with the writing....suppose i read something about bees..the article may not evoke any passion in me, but it will be appreciated by a bee specialist...on the other hand anything about kittens will make me go goo-goo, whatever that is....

i believe, that as hard as i may try to describe a scenery, i can do nothing more than use my writing skills and vocabulary...it's the readers who must have the passion...i'm not trying to justify bad writings by blaming it on the readers though...

how much a reader enjoys a story depends on his/her own imaginative power and richness of his/her feelings.

ok this babbling has been going on long enough now...n all i wanted to say was i prefer photographs of natural scenaries over its description Razz

..show them a photo and let ....and also that these are the reasons why visual media is a very powerful form of communication.....and i have absolutely no idea what got me to write on this topic in the first place :laughs: ...aaj kal sansar aanautho lagi racha...abu malai alchi lagyo..ma gaye aba....ani mo promise garcha ki mo yo article lai mo more organized tarika le mo yeslai lekhcha mo ani..tehi ho....mo jancha aba....mo gaye hai...hahahaha....taal taal ko mancha huncha sansar ma! ke ho ke ho.

i didn't mean to make you u feel stupid!!! i was trying to say that whatever u post is good sometimes it might look stupid, useless or wotever but in the end it's your creativeness. And it ought to make sense on the right time as you have tried to say in that post too. other ppl might not understand it now but someday when they will feeling the same they will understand and feel happy to see that this is NORMAL.
