Yeti, my ass
Original Post: http://apenguinsdiary.wordpress.com/2007/12/02/yeti-my-ass/

Aros: penguin, did you read the paper today?.. they found footprints of Yeti in the Khumbu region… this is exciting news for Nepal
Penguin: hey I found a flying elephant on my way back home yesterday
Aros: why the hell is it so hard to convince you man?
Penguin: a Yeti’s footprint? Can’t you see what’s going on here…it’s just a f***ing cheap popularity stunt ..people think they can get away with anything in Nepal thesedays
Aros: don’t you think the wise thing would be to just follow the news and see where this goes? they’re even taking the sample to US for verification.
Penguin: ya right, a Yeti found in the twenty first century… but this exposure is good for the country’s tourism… so i’ll just keep quiet
Aros: whatever
Penguin: forget all this, what are you making tonight?
Aros: Tonight??..what the hell do you mean by me ..it’s your turn to cook, you f***ing skeptic bird.
Penguin: Yeti, my ass!

@outie: i'll go with the penguin! Wink

here's a song i'm enjoying thesedays...
UP A HILL - Plunkett

Walking up a hill when I was sure of sitting still
Would someone please come
And explain me

Hope for the best I've fifty left before I go down like the rest
Could someone
Confirm that first bit

I know it's just today but these dark thoughts won't go away
Just sat here thinking
Sat walking

I remember long ago
Which wasn't so long ago
And remember how
I would never ever age

Okay deep breath I've fifty left if all goes well until deep breath
There I
Almost said it

So okay I say we're all the same and anyway it's here to stay
I'm still sat here
And slowly walking

Deep red deep blue always true
Breathe the old breathe the new

I remember long ago
Which wasn't so long ago
I remember long ago
When a three didn't touch me so
I remember long ago
I know it wasn't that long ago
And remember how
I would never ever age

Writing Well (Part 1)
Original Post: http://apenguinsdiary.wordpress.com/2007/12/03/writing-well-part-1/

I want to write something serious, without my trademark foolish hahas and hehes. I believe serious essay-style philosophical writings are what tests your intellectual capability. But I’m not ready for that yet. I feel shallow most of the time. You got to read a lot of books before you’re ready. A good writer should have knowledge of many things - natural history, philosophy, history, geography, human behaviour, science…everything. For example, how would you describe a sky in your novel when you have very little knowledge about clouds and weather patterns. This applies to everything else. And there’s always the vocabulary. Until a few years back, I used to think that I was never going to use words and sentences in my writings that would require people to go look for their dictionary, or that would make them ponder till they go mad. I wanted my writings to be equally understandable to an adult as well as to a kid. But now I know that this not how it works. You cannot please everybody. Expressing yourself in a powerful and balanced way is what counts. And for that you need to throw in some words now and then, and twist some sentences. Besides, a kid wouldn’t understand philosophy anyway! …mood. I can write this article in a hundred different ways. It all depends on my mood. Sometimes your sense of expression is so sharp and well balanced that you wish you could stay like that forever. While at other times you sound like a donkey braying. Never write when you’re not inspired.

But all this is not that hard to learn, just requires a little bit of effort on your part. Perfection requires effort. When I read books and magazines I cannot help but admire all those articles, so well balanced, awe inspiring and with such philosophical depth. Looking at them, I realize my limitations…I realize my destiny.

p.s. I have that something-missing feeling about the above writing as well…what, I do not know…but it’s not balanced somehow! A good writer, someone I know from myktm, would’ve turned this into a masterpiece…or maybe, i’m just paranoid and too much self-conscious Wink

Getting Dates
Original Post: http://apenguinsdiary.wordpress.com/2007/12/05/getting-dates/

Penguin: A girl was teasing me at the cafeteria the other day, about me having an imaginary ant for a friend.
Aros: Imaginary! HA! So what did you say?
Penguin: I told her that we should discuss this over dinner during the weekend!

this post is about my blog...but i thought it was worth posting here...so, i give you...
DANCING ON THIN ICE!
Original Post: http://apenguinsdiary.wordpress.com/2007/12/06/dancing-on-thin-ice/

once you enter my blog, do not take anything seriously...and take no offense... it's not reality people, it's my blog..there are talking ants in here...

this blog is where I experiment with words. I'm just starting out. Haven't defined my style yet...i feel the most important thing I need to master is my sense of humor..it just goes awry most of the time, as you'll soon see...I'm hoping to come out of this blog a mature writer..let's see where this goes.

I will post a lot of stuffs here..Apart from my stories, poems and essays, there will be some drawings and illustrations now and then..and a lot of small unedited snippets, most of which will sound incomplete..i'm aware of that..my plan is to take those snippets and use them in my stories in the future...I'm going to try out different styles here and find out what I'm most comfortable with...and since i'm talking styles, i would particularly like to mention the book "Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman"..i love the way this book is written..even used to write like that a lot...Richard Feynman was a physicist, a great educator and one very colorful character. The book is written in an autobiographical style..but it isn't an autobiography in the truest sense as it wasn't Feynman who actually wrote it!..and I suggest you read it..(woo, rhymes..i feel clever yet again)

And someone was asking me about the whole 'dancing on ice' thing... well, i'm not going into my personal details here, but i'm on dangerous grounds thesedays people..you have no idea how thin the ice is beneath by feet.. might crack anytime soon.. but i'm dancing!..but above all, i'm enjoying it!!! SH**! .."a weird character i sense in you" (yoda)..haha... anyways, where was i...yes.. always have been a hardcore optimist, always will be... and this will ruin me someday! Laughing ...see see i'm laughing about all this.. i will burn in hell!

and oh, nearly forgot to tell you about my escapepod...you see, i have this amazing escapepod ready, engine on at all times, especially designed for this blog..if someone criticizes my writing for its lack of depth, or because it's not intriguing enough, or for the weird humor, or for whatsoever other reasons, i can always say that i'm just starting out.."i'm a rookie for cryin out loud...just give me a little room to breathe here, will ya"..nice eh!

"a weird character i sense in you"
"f*** off!"

welcome to my blog my fellow human beings. Yes you too ant.

ya i've got a lot of things to write about.. a lot to write about, so little time and a shallow brain!!.. amazing combination! Laughing ...free time? nah! i've been ignoring my other duties to write thesedays!... papa's angry and so is everyone else... should have been studying physics full time right now...i'll just have to fit in this writing thing somehow... but it's just the initial excitement of starting a blog... will die away in a few days and then i'll be reduced to posting once or twice a week... there's no point in posting a lot of crap anyway! besides these, i still do write personal stuffs...but they're for my eyes only Wink .. not going to hang them out for public display! ..but you'll find them subtly hidden inside my short stories, very very subtly... i'll treat you with a burger if you can figure them out! (virtual burger that is, after all THIS is virtual! Confused)..and i've this short story that i think i'll finish writing within a couple of weeks..will post it as soon as i finish with it..very excited about it right now.... sh**, it's past midnight..i have to get up early tomorrow!!!!!......

so...what will it be, a volleyball or a football?
